‘This Is Us’ Steady In Return

Viacom has laid off a number of staffers in its entertainment group, with the majority of the affected employees hailing from Paramount Network. A Viacom spokesperson declined to comment. Football Rules Ratings, But ‘Big Bang’ Energized

‘The Passage’ Off To A Decent Start
Fox’s new drama The Passage got off to an OK start Monday night, landing the night’s top 18-49 rating among scripted shows and nearly matching the fall average for 911 in the same time period. The Passage drew a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.22 million viewers, pretty well in line with the 1.4 and 5.85 million 911averaged on Mondays in the fall.
The Department of Justice is prepared to put the ball back in Disney’s court for unloading Fox’s regional sports networks, saving Disney from a fire sale and billions of dollars in losses, two sources with direct knowledge of the situation said. Justice is poised to allow Disney to spin off the control of Fox’s 22 regional sports networks to complete its $71 billion deal for Fox, one of the sources said, as opposed to finding an actual buyer.
