Ahead of American Dad!’s Season 17 premiere, TBS has renewed the hit animated comedy series for two more seasons, 18 and 19. Series co-creator/executive producer Matt Weitzman and executive producer Brian Boyle have signed new deals to continue as showrunners.
The group says the April 14 episode violated the broadcast decency law and calls on its members to file formal FCC complaints. “Every Fox affiliate that aired this American Dad episode should be held accountable for violating the law,” says the group’s president, Tim Winter.
The network has renewed flagship animated comedy Family Guy for an 11th season and American Dad for an eighth with 22-epsiode ofders for each.

The renewal of the Seth MacFarlane animated show will keep the Emmy-nominated series on the network through the 2012-13 season.
