Netflix raised the salary of its chief executive Reed Hastings by 50% to $6 million for 2014, a regulatory filing shows, as its stock quadrupled in value this year amid new programming and a growth in its subscriber base. Hastings will receive $3 million each in cash and stock options for the year.

21st Century Fox Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch’s overall compensation declined slightly in fiscal 2013, to $28.9 million. During the previous year, Murdoch had a $30-million compensation package. That was nearly 10% lower than his fiscal 2011 earnings of $33.3 million.

CEO Philippe Dauman took home $33.5 million in the year that ended Sept. 30, down 22% from the previous year. His No. 2, COO Tom Dooley, saw a 23% drop to $26.3 million. Compensation for Chairman Sumner Redstone, who holds the same title at CBS Corp., dropped 3% to $20.4 million.
Walt Disney Co Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger got a 20% bump in his 2012 pay, totaling $40.2 million, regulatory filings show. Iger’s package included $2.5 million in base salary, with an additional $9.5 million in stock awards.
Leslie Moonves’ pay package for 2011 rose 20% to $68.4 million from a year ago. The sum will likely rank Moonves among the highest paid American CEOs last year.
Comcast CEO Brian Roberts received a performance-based cash bonus of $10.9 million in 2010, boosting his total compensation package to $31.1 million, a 14% increase over the previous year.
