ABC has renewed comedy series Black-ish for an eighth and final season. Creator Kenya Barris first shared the news on social media.

In addition, series executive producer Elwood Reid will take over as showrunner for Season 2. His past credits include The Chi, The Bridge, Hawaii Five-O and Barkskins. He takes over running the show from series creator and executive producer David E. Kelley. Season 1 is still currently airing, with the finale set for May 18.

ABC Renews ‘The Good Doctor’ For Season 5

Season to date, The Good Doctor is averaging 4.23 million total viewers and just shy of a 0.6 demo rating (in Live+Same Day numbers) — down about 30% from Season 3.  Among the eight dramas ABC has aired this TV season, it ranks third in both measures (trailing Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy).

NBCUniversal Syndication Studios has sold both shows in more than 90% of the U.S. for next season. Currently averaging 1.4 million total viewers per day in its 25th season, Access Hollywood is hosted by Mario Lopez, Kit Hoover and Scott Evans, and features correspondents Sibley Scoles and Zuri Hall. Access Daily, which features the same trio of hosts, is in its 11th season.

‘Duncanville’ Renewed For Season 3 At Fox

Just ahead of its Season 2 premiere next month, Fox renewed animated sitcom Duncanville for Season 3. “Watching Amy [Poehler] bring her incredible talent to Duncanville both on and off the screen these past two seasons has been an amazing experience,” said Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn.

Judge Jerry, the court show hosted by daytime TV veteran Jerry Springer, has been renewed for a third season by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios. The show premiered in national broadcast syndication in fall 2019 as the highest-rated syndicated court show premiere in five years, NBCU said. It is averaging 1 million daily viewers for Season 2 while delivering one of the youngest audiences among its court show competitors.
