The plaintiff, suing as a Jane Doe, claims she was assaulted by former VP of Distribution Nolan Gonzales and that management refused to escalate concerns to human resources despite complaints from other women.
A lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Nevada alleges that the women were individually drugged and assaulted between approximately 1979 and 1992 in Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe homes, dressing rooms and hotels. The Nevada lawsuit came only a few weeks after Gov. Joe Lombardo signed a bill that eliminated a two-year deadline for adults to file sexual abuse cases. Similar suits have followed other “lookback laws” in other states.
The investigation, which involves a police captain with ties to CBS executives who worked to hush up the allegations, may now result in federal charges.
Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore has apologized to the family of a former television executive who accused former CBS chief Leslie Moonves of sexual misconduct. Both ABC and the former top producer of its Good Morning America have asked that a sexual-assault lawsuit filed against both of them be dismissed, citing New York’s statute of limitations on harassment claims and alleging the plaintiff in some parts has made charges that are inapplicable.
