Station Trading Roundup: 2 Deals, $76 Million

The purchase of WPIX New York by Mission Broadcasting tops the latest list of TV station transactions submitted to the FCC for its approval, according to BIA Advisory Services.

WPIX-TV New York — PRICE: $75,000,000 BUYER: Mission Broadcasting Inc (Dennis Thatcher, president/CEO) SELLER:  EW Scripps Co (Adam Symson, president/CEO) FACILITIES: DTV Ch 11, 5.500 kW, ant. 1,660 ft. AFFILIATION: CW COMMENT: Nexstar is transferring its option to purchase WPIX from EW Scripps to Mission Broadcasting and Mission is exercising that option. The option price is $75,000,000 plus accrued interest to be calculated on the period between the Sept 19, 2019, purchase date of WPIX by Scripps and the option sale closing date.
