Fox Scores With MLS Cup Final Ratings

Fox’s broadcast of the 2018 MLS Cup final between Atlanta United and the Portland Timbers drew 1.56 million total viewers in primetime Saturday night, making it the most-watched MLS title game since 1997, the U.S. pro soccer league’s second year of existence.

Arrow’ Jumps With Batwoman, ‘Voice’ Goes Low

Arrow spiked to season highs on Monday as it aired the middle portion of The CW’s “Elseworlds” crossover. NBC’s The Voice, however, is currently in danger of matching its season low. The middle episode of “Elseworlds” — featuring the debut of Ruby Rose as Batwoman — propelled Arrow to a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.04 million viewers. Some Very Old Favorites Reappear On TV

ABC’s showing of A Charlie Brown Christmas was the most-watched of a handful of holiday specials that aired in primetime last week, reaching 5.3 million viewers. It’s a tradition in many households that was first on television in December 1965. Two other old favorites, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman, were both seen by more than 4 million people on CBS Saturday night. Rudolph dates to 1964, while Frosty made his debut in 1969.

‘Simpsons,’ ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Spike With NFL Assist

Fox’s Sunday lineup reached or tied season highs across the board thanks to a big lead-in from the network’s late-afternoon NFL game. The Simpsons earned a 2.8 rating among adults 18-49, a full point better than its previous high for the season. Bob’s Burgers (1.8) was half a point ahead of its best outing of the season. Family Guy‘s 1.5 was also a season high, topping the 1.2 for last week and the season premiere, while Rel tied its high of 0.8.

Katz Networks Relaunching Court TV

The new multiplatform network, to debut in May 2019, has secured over-the-air distribution agreements with major local TV station group owners including Tribune, Scripps and Univision, giving Court TV coverage of more than 50% of U.S. television households at launch. Vinnie Politan will be the network’s lead anchor.

‘SNL’ Ratings Rise With Host Jason Momoa
