The CBS, ABC and Fox affiliates on the Central Coast (KEYT & KKFX) is currently looking for a General Manager to be responsible for leading station efforts in providing high-quality and financially viable television programming.

Situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains, Santa Barbara, California, enjoys a nearly perfect year-round climate, making it ideal for outdoor activities and drawing tourists worldwide. Along the beachfront, residents can bike, run, kayak, surf, play beach volleyball or stroll out onto Stearns Wharf, a historic wooden pier dotted with shops, restaurants and the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center, an interactive marine education facility. A water taxi connects the wharf and the Santa Barbara Harbor, where residents can charter a fishing boat or visit the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum.

The General Manager works closely with Department Managers, News Directors and other key personnel, to ensure that station goals and objectives are effectively accomplished.

Duties include management of the physical, human and financial assets of the station, in relation to achieving budgeted financial goals and growing the station’s revenue share.

The General Manager is responsible for recruiting and hiring department managers, working with the News Director in recognizing and hiring key talent, as well as conducting performance reviews with all direct reports.

Additionally, the General Manager oversees strict adherence to FCC rules and regulations, monitoring related processes to ensure protection of station licensing.

Experience as a General Manager is preferred.

Additionally, the desired candidate is expected to be a strategic thinker, disciplined executor, practiced in developing and making recommendations, exhibiting professional interpersonal, communicative and presentation skills.

To be successful in this role, candidates must be detail-oriented, with the ability to remain inherently focused on the systematic completion of multiple projects.

Advanced computer skills, extensive knowledge of MS Excel and Power Point, knowledge of and basic competence in a PC-based traffic system are required, with a college degree preferred.
