Nexstar Broadcasting Inc. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President/General Manager to lead KTLA-TV (CW) in Los Angeles, California. Los Angeles is the #2 DMA in the country, with over 5.1 million television households.

One of the most highly-regarded television stations in America, KTLA was the first television station to go on the air west of the Mississippi River in 1947.  Since then, it has become a market leader and an icon of the best in local television. On many days, KTLA’s local newscasts rank #1 in their respective time periods, and the station’s local morning news show consistently draws more viewers that all of its network competitors combined.

KTLA leads the market in the production of local content, airing more than 91 hours per week of local news, weather, sports and programming—60 percent more than any other station in the market. regularly ranks among the top-three broadcast digital platforms nationwide. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly-engaged broadcasting executive to work alongside and lead an impressive group of professionals producing some of the very best local television in the U.S.  It is a chance to help a major news and entertainment organization achieve even greater success in the nation’s second-largest market.

The successful candidate should have a track record of significant accomplishments while leading sales-driven organizations and growing revenue across multiple platforms throughout his or her career in the broadcast industry.  This person will have demonstrated the ability to develop the skillsets of their department heads and promote teamwork within all areas of a television station operation.

In addition, the candidate should have a history of revenue development and community engagement successes, a keen focus on the bottom line, and a broad range of local programming experience.   We are looking for a stakeholder—someone who understands the local television business, promotes good citizenship and seeks to make a positive, lasting impact in the community.
