Blaise Labbe, Sinclair Group News Director, Named To Oklahoma Journalism Hall Of Fame

Blaise Labbe will be inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame. Labbe is a group news director for Sinclair Broadcast Group and oversees the news operations in 12 Sinclair markets across five states.

The Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame honors outstanding journalists for their career accomplishments and it is considered the highest journalistic honor in the state. It recognizes Oklahoma natives or journalists who have served at least 10 years in the state. The 54th Anniversary Induction Gala will be held on May 2 at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Labbe said: “I am very humbled by this honor. I come to work every day in hopes of making a difference. This recognition affirms that in some way I have. This is a very special moment, and I want to express thanks to my family, my coworkers and the mentors who have guided me through this incredible journey.”

Throughout his career, Labbe has received multiple awards and accolades honoring his work. He has been recognized by the United States Secretary of Commerce by winning the National Minority Business Development Agency’s Cornerstone award. He has also won several Emmy Awards, a Telly Award and two National Award of Excellence from the National Association of Black Journalists. In addition, he has also received several honors from the National Press Photographers Association and the Dallas Press Club.
