Since unveiling its now-familiar design aesthetic in 2015, PBS NewsHour has taken the next step in its evolution thanks to a newly expanded broadcast facility. “The 2015 set was so well received that it was an easy decision to carry on the stylistic DNA they were composed of,” said designer Eric Siegel, ahead of the June 10 launch of the new studio, graphics, logo and rebranding as PBS News on its digital platforms.

NAB Unloads On The FCC

The FCC’s failure to relax ownership rules could prompt radio and TV stations to favor investment in unregulated platforms to distribute their content, the National Association of Broadcasters said in a hard-hitting June 6 filing at the FCC. The NAB warned that the FCC could see broadcasters go the way of the ailing newspaper industry if they are held back by regulation to achieve the kind of scale needed to compete with Big Tech.

GM Supports Black-Owned Media

General Motors is on track to reach its goal of 8% of its advertising placed with Black-owned media by 2025. That's according to executives from the automaker who were on hand at the Black Owned Media Weekend in Detroit, hosted by the Black Owned Media Equity and Sustainability Institute. The nonprofit emphasizes the importance of Black owned media in the industry and best practices for building a sustainable future.
