Rachel Whetstone is leaving the top corporate communications job at Facebook and will take one running public relations for Netflix. Whetstone is the latest high-ranking executive to leave the massive social network in recent months. Her boss, Elliot Schrage, announced in June that he was planning on leaving the company; business development head Dan Rose said last week he was also departing.
As the political news around the Trump Administration heats up, TV news networks have been raising advertising and on-air promotions efforts over the last four months. A month and a half before the broadcast TV season starts, networks have been increasing new show on-air promotion — with CBS airing promos for six new fall series — the most of any network. CBS’ new version of Magnum P.I. has run 288 spot airings on CBS since May 15 with some 533.1 million total impressions, according to iSpot.tv. That is the highest number of impressions for any new show so far.
