Daily Blast Live, a syndicated, hourlong daily talker produced by Tegna, will cease production in early September, the company said Thursday.
“Daily Blast Live will be sunset after this season’s final show on Friday, Sept. 6,” Tegna noted in a statement. “We wish to thank our incredibly talented on-air talent and production team for bringing daytime viewers seven seasons of energetic, humorous and thoughtful debate. We look forward to celebrating DBL’s best moments in the coming months ahead of the show’s conclusion.”
The show launched in 2015 under the original title of Bold and is shot at Tegna’s KUSA Denver. Its hosts are Sam Schacher, Jeff Shroeder, Al Jackson, Erica Cobb, Tori Shulman and Stefanie Jones. Burt Dubrow, who launched The Sally Raphael Show and helped launch Jerry Springer, is its executive producer.
The show has been positioned as a low-cost daytime alternative focusing on topical stories.
Good I wasn’t a fan of DBL was on WZZM at 7:30PM only timeslot they could air didn’t want to air it in the afternoon because of Hot Bench & Judge Judy. I believe that DBL was the dog in the 7:30PM timeslot in my opinion will never know. And not surprised not many TV station groups signed on for DBL other than Scripps in 2018 on a few stations a lot dropped after a year and Sinclair this past year. Will be interesting what WZZM airs at 7:30PM in the fall when DBL ends it’s run if they will go with a 7PM newscast and move ET to 7:30PM or remain at 7PM been there since the fall of 94.
