MetaBroadcast Earns DPP Committed To Sustainability Mark

MetaBroadcast, a metadata management provider for broadcasters, streamer services and pay TV operators, has been awarded the DPP Committed to Sustainability mark. In the face of growing concern about climate change, the DPP’s Committed to Sustainability program offers a practical tool to assess an organization’s progress against key environmental measures. It provides a common framework for procurement teams to assess their suppliers’ environmental impact.

With broadcasters such as the U.K.’s ITV committed to running a 100% sustainable supply chain by 2030, MetaBroadcast initiated its ESG program in 2023. As a vendor serving the media and entertainment sector, MetaBroadcast is persistently measuring its carbon emissions from its customer-facing cloud-based Atlas platform, its internal cloud-based business applications, and all business travel with goals to reduce its carbon footprint. It has established environmental sustainability travel guidelines and best practices for its 100% remote workforce.

Jamie Mackinlay, CEO of MetaBroadcast, said: “There are few more important challenges in our lives than operating in a sustainable way to help our planet. The DPP has taken a leadership role in helping a range of media and entertainment businesses to put ESG at the center of their operations and ways of working. I am proud of the progress we have made in attaining this standard but know we are only just starting our journey.”

Abdul Hakim, DPP head of business development & committed to sustainability lead, added: “We are delighted that MetaBroadcast has started its sustainability journey with our Committed to Sustainability program. Joining over 60 companies in the industry to be awarded the mark, MetaBroadcast is taking the first step towards a more sustainable future.”
