WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Live’ Climbs, Most Everything Else Doesn’t

The top-rated talker is one of a handful of syndicated shows to record a ratings rise in the week ending July 6 compared to the previous frame.

Live with Kelly & Michael, the only daytime strip moving up from the prior session, was the standout in the holiday week ending July 6, topping the talkers for the fourth straight week with a 2.6, and growing 4% from its year-ago score.

Most of the others were in reruns and many finished at, or very close to, their lowest levels of the season.

Repeats of Dr. Phil were good enough for second place with a 2.3, down 8% week to week, but still up 5% from last year. Further back, Ellen declined 11% to a new season low 1.7 and landed in a tie for third with Maury.

In access, all of the top six magazine strips backed off from their strong showings in the previous frame, however, the weekly ET Weekend jumped 6% to a 1.7, and Extra Weekend surged 17% to a 0.7.

Among game shows, Wheel of Fortune held onto the lead, although it fell 8% to a new season low 5.6.

At the head of the syndication class for the 15th week in a row was Judge Judy, which dipped 9% to a 6.4, but was still up 7% from last year at this time.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

In the metered markets, a six-week test run of Hollywood Today Live averaged a 0.5 rating/2 share after two days on nine Fox stations. This was down 50% from its average lead-in and down 29% from its year-ago time periods.

A second trial run for the daily Helpline posted a 0.1 rating/0 share two-day average, down 67% from its lead-in and down 80% from its year-ago time period average.
