$23M and then say you are going to show the soft and caring side of Megyn Kelly…. You are trying to change Megyn into something she may not be and then asking women in the 25-54 year old demo to change their feelings about Megyn. I am not sure either will work. If she was so good at doing what she was on Fox then why not give her that on NBC and not try to reinvent? I really have a hard time believing she (or anyone else) is worth 23M a year to do a interview show especially if you cannot ask the question(s) and then be quite so the person(s) can answer.

If things didn’t happen to be going well at the moment over at MSNBC this type of blunder (plus bringing in that annoying Stephanie Ruhle) could spell Andy Lack’s Waterloo….

If I was NBC, once things settle down over here, I would test double running her morning show as a news lead in on NBC affils. Some of those stations, like Meredith’s WSMV in Nashville, have horrible syndicated shows (Dr. Oz at 2, Rachael Ray at 3) leading into their news. For $23 million, a second run with more ads/revenue at pretty decent afternoon cpms would go a long way. I’d do it.

Affiliates might be able to accept the notion of forking over the majority of their retrans $$ to help pay for NFL . . . but not for Megyn Kelly’s salary if the ratings are lousy . . .

And NBC gave up the “Santa Barbara” slot 25 years ago. They aren’t getting that time back, and stations are already annoyed at them enough for having to burn an hour of late night on Hoda/Kathie Lee repeats. Maybe NBC should try using that existing time slot.

Megyn Kelly is like a burning tire fire…
And the only way to put out burning tires is to let them burn themselves out.
There are much better things on the air whenever she’s on.
