LiveU, a provider of IP-based live video services and broadcast solutions for acquisition, management and distribution, will feature its ultra-small transmission device, LU200. Unveiled in late 2014, the LU200 offers a bonded solution with a mini form-factor for live video transmission.

Weighing just over 1 pound, the LU200 opens new live coverage opportunities at the same price of a single channel solution but with greater resiliency and superior video quality, and managed under a single platform, the LiveU Central.

“We absolutely love the LU200,” said Ian Rhodes, news operations manager at WDIV Detroit. “Thanks to the LU200’s exceptionally small size, yet high performance, we have used it to film live on a zip line, a snow slide and a ski lift. We love using it with a GoPro, but have also had great success with the LU200 on live shots from ENG cameras as well.”

“The LU200 gives broadcasters a distinct advantage to cover news in a way they have never been able to before — from capturing new types of footage to being able to compete in new markets,” said Samuel Wasserman, CEO of LiveU. “It enriches our innovative product portfolio and is the latest proof of our commitment to advancing high-quality, cost-effective live video capabilities for our customers.”

LiveU owns the patent on cellular bonding for remote news gathering in the U.S. and other countries worldwide. The LU200, like all of its products, is based on this fourth-generation patented technology. LiveU is presenting its full range of IP-based video uplink services and solutions at the NAB Show.
