NBC’s ‘Deal or No Deal’ uses Harris graphics software

Harris Corp.’s Inscriber RTX software powered the graphics for the new NBC game show Deal or No Deal. CBS Television, the show’s production company, used Inscriber RTX to create all on-screen and stage graphics using multiple channels simultaneously.

“Having used Inscriber graphics products for many years in shows such as Wheel of Fortune, we knew we would be getting the latest in broadcast innovation,” commented Bill Monk, supervisor of stage electronics for CBS Television.  “We were very pleased with the performance and usability Inscriber RTX provided us. We were especially impressed with its ability to deliver complex graphics and how easy our programmer found it to use.”

Robert Winter, director of technology-stage operations for CBS Television, said: “The containerization feature that allows for multiple graphics to be contained within one another is nearly infinite. This feature alone has significantly cut down my development time.” He also cited the ability to develop within a desktop environment, instead of requiring a graphic output, as a major advantage.
