O’Bryon To Lead S.C. Public Television

Linda O'Bryon, the former chief of content at Northern California Public Broadcasting, has been tapped to be the new president-CEO of South Carolina Educational Television.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Educational Television has hired a public television executive from San Francisco to be its new president and CEO.

The ETV Commission voted Wednesday to hire Linda O’Bryon, who will start her new job on Dec. 1.

O’Bryon was the former Chief of Content Officer at Northern California Public Broadcasting.

She supervised a team of television and radio producers, editors, reporters and technical personnel at public television stations in San Francisco, San Jose and Monterey, as well as at two radio stations in Sacramento.

O’Bryon says she was attracted to South Carolina public broadcasting because of its emphasis on education and quality content.
