Pillsbury Launches Online CommLawCenter

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman’s communications practice today announced the launch of its online CommLawCenter, a resource for media and broadcast clients, industry analysts and journalists and others seeking the latest insight and analysis on breaking communications news, regulatory actions, court decisions and policy ideas.

With ongoing posts and opinion pieces from nearly a dozen noted communications attorneys, the CommLawCenter features RSS support, links to Pillsbury’s communications client alert archives and FCC publications, as well as listings of key events and dates, such as filing deadlines and trade shows.

“The political, economic, and regulatory environment for media companies, program networks, station owners and numerous other players in the communications industry has grown more intense than ever,” said Scott R. Flick, a Pillsbury communications partner in Washington and CommLawCenter contributor. “With timely analysis of the pressures at play and the resulting business strategies and legal issues, the CommLawCenter helps fulfill our practice team’s goal of providing valuable alerts and insight that help affected businesses manage their operations, engage policymakers and update strategic plans.”

From the National Broadband Plan and the impact of wireless spectrum policies on broadcasters, to analysis of TV and radio issues like retransmission agreements and court rulings on indecency and political advertising, the CommLawCenter offers content targeted at the television, radio and satellite communications sectors, as well as investors, equipment suppliers and others following Washington developments closely.

Pillsbury’s Chambers-ranked communication team represents hundreds of radio and television stations nationwide, as well as domestic and international satellite operators, wireline and wireless telecommunications and data service providers, Internet companies, and other businesses with communications needs.
