WEEKLY SYNDICATED RATINGS REPORT

Strong Week For ‘Wheel’ And ‘Judy’

Her honor tops all syndie shows, while Wheel rolls back on top in the game genre. Others first-run shows posting weekly gains include most of the court genre, Inside Edition and Access Hollywood.

The game show race continued to be a nail biter in the week ending Aug. 10, as Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune both declined and fell into a dead heat. A week ago, Jeopardy upset the usually dominant Wheel for only the second time in 10 years.

At the top of the overall ratings chart, however, Judge Judy forged ahead and was syndication’s runaway No. 1, winning by the widest margin in the show’s 18-year history. Judy, which was entirely in reruns, has now been the highest-rated syndicated show for 20 consecutive weeks.

Among talkers, Dr. Oz and Steve Harvey were the only shows moving up from the prior session in households, even though both were in repeats all week. In addition, Oz grew 11% in the key women 25-54 demo.

Live with Kelly & Michael held steady in households and topped the category in the eighth time in the past nine weeks. Live also finished first among women 25-54, climbing 8% in the demo.

Dr. Phil reruns were a tenth of a point behind Live. Maury held onto third place, while Ellen remained fourth, tying its season low.

Access Hollywood scored the biggest increase among the magazine strips, while the weekly Extra Weekend surged 33%. However, Entertainment Tonight continued to lead the field,
