Freestyle Digital Adds 2 Acquisitions Execs

Entertainment Studios Inc. has appointed Dan Fisher as VP of acquisitions and Rachel Koehler as director of acquisitions for Freestyle Digital Media, the digital content distribution unit of its feature film distribution company Freestyle Releasing, effective immediately.

Freestyle Digital Media is the digital distribution unit of theatrical motion picture distribution company Freestyle Releasing, which was purchased by ES CEO Byron Allen in October 2015. Freestyle Digital Media supplies commercial feature film and television content directly to global digital platforms, including Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Dish, ATT U-verse, Redbox, Vubiquity, GooglePlay, among others.

Fisher will now oversee acquisitions for Freestyle Digital Media, targeting 24 theatrical releases and 400 direct-to-VOD titles annually. Fisher will also oversee the company’s film festival and market coverage program. Previously, Fisher was senior director of acquisitions at Gravitas Ventures and director of worldwide acquisitions at Entertainment One, licensing theatrical and home entertainment content for domestic and international distribution.

Koehler will work alongside Fisher to track and acquire projects that contribute to theFreestyle Digital Media slate. Koehler most recently worked at Gravitas Ventures as acquisitions manager, and before that at Cinedigm as manager of digital sales and acquisitions. While at Cinedigm, she managed key digital accounts including iTunes, Amazon and Hulu.

Fisher and Koehler will report to Freestyle’s head of acquisitions, Chris Charalambous.
