Brent Barrow To Lead KLAS Creative Services

The experienced broadcast and marketing executive will oversee the commercial and promotional production initiatives for Nexstar’s Las Vegas CBS affiliate.

Nexstar-owned CBS affiliate KLAS Las Vegas (DMA 40) has appointed Brent Barrow creative services manager of the station’s broadcast and mobile/digital operations. Barrow’s appointment is effective June 19, 2017 and he will report to Lisa Howfield, VP-GM of KLAS  and LasVegasNow.com.

In his new role at KLAS, Barrow will be responsible for establishing integrated branding and promotional strategies for 8 News NOW, the station’s locally-produced news programming, and Las Vegas NOW, it’s weekday afternoon lifestyle show.

In addition, he will develop, execute and monitor action plans aimed at growing ratings and revenue share and improving audience interaction and engagement with KLAS’s local content offerings across all media platforms, including television, desktop and mobile.

An 18-year industry veteran, Barrow most recently was creative services director of KOKH and KOCB in Oklahoma City.

Prior to that, he was regional promotion supervisor for a nationally-recognized broadcast group where he provided branding and promotions training for general managers, news directors and creative services in multiple regional markets including Tulsa, Okla.; Colorado Springs; Amarillo, Texas; and Wichita, Kan.

Earlier in his career Barrow spent eight years in in Springfield, Ill., as creative services director for WICS and WICD and as producer and studio manager for WSEC, WMEC and WQEC.

He began his broadcast television career in Chicago as a production assistant for Warner Brothers, Disney and the Oprah Winfrey Show among others.
