FMNA Taps Dinsmore For Alternative Chief

Former NBC and CMT executive Jayson Dinsmore will oversee FremantleMedia North America’s domestic and global development strategy.

FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) has appointed television industry veteran, Jayson Dinsmore, as the company’s president of alternative programming and development.  In his new role, Dinsmore will be charged with driving the company’s domestic and global development strategy within the unscripted genre. 

“Jayson is one of the most well-respected and admired executives within the television industry,” said Jennifer Mullin, FMNA CEO. “He is innovative, creative and brings an enormous amount of experience in both development and production.   He shares our ambition at FMNA and I am delighted to have him lead our unscripted team.

In this new role, Dinsmore will focus on sourcing, developing, pitching and producing original programming. With current hits such as America’s Got Talent (NBC), Family Feud (syndicated), The Price Is Right (CBS), Match Game (ABC) and American Idol (ABC), Dinsmore will have access to both FMNA’s back catalogue of titles, as well as the opportunity to make key strategic, talent and creative decisions regarding new formats to further enhance the company’s pipeline of entertainment. 

Dinsmore comes to FMNA with an extensive background in television and media. Most recently, he has been executive vice president of production and development for CMT, where he managed all facets of development and genres including unscripted, scripted, news, documentaries and music events. During his tenure at CMT, he redefined the brand’s creative filter and launched shows including, Party Down South, Nashville and Sun Records

Prior to his role at CMT, Dinsmore spent over a decade at NBC Entertainment, where he served as both the SVP and VP of alternative programming and development. During his time there, he was responsible for shows including Deal or No Deal, The Sing-Off and Minute To Win It

He is a native of Texas and graduated from Howard Payne University.
