Nicholas Alexander Joins Wilkinson Barker Knauer As Partner

Law firm Wilkinson Barker Knauer (WBK) has hired Nicholas Alexander as a partner in its Washington, D.C., office.

Alexander joins WBK with an extensive background in telecommunications law and policy issues, having served as a government attorney, in-house counsel, and in private practice.

After starting his career in private practice at an Am Law 100 firm, he spent close to a decade at the FCC, where he served as a staff attorney and manager in the Wireline Competition Bureau, as special counsel in the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy and as a legal adviser to three members of the commission.

He then spent more than four years in-house with major telecom provider CenturyLink, where he most recently led the company’s regulatory advocacy team as VP of federal regulatory affairs.

Alexander has advised clients, FCC commissioners and business unit leaders on how to craft policy and manage regulatory risk on issues ranging from customer privacy to open internet policy.

Prior to practicing law, he served as an Airborne infantry officer in the United States Army. Alexander holds a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law and a B.S. in industrial management from Carnegie Mellon University.
