Overnights: Fox Takes Top Spot Behind Football

"Thursday Night Football" went up a tenth. ABC dramas dipped, but NBC comedies improved.

Like the San Francisco 49ers, who took on the Arizona Cardinals in a division showdown, Fox won Thursday night. Thursday Night Football led the way in primetime ratings, per the Nielsen overnights, with Fox earning a 2.8 in viewers 18-49 and a 14 share. The rating was up a tenth over last week’s Redskins-Vikings contest.

ABC finished behind Fox at 0.7/4, as Grey’s Anatomy went down 15% to 1.1 and A Million Little Things fell off 22% to a 0.7. How to Get Away With Murder dipped 20% as well, to 0.4.

NBC did a 0.6/3 and CBS a 0.5/2. On NBC, Superstore slid 13% to 0.7, though Perfect Harmony was up 25%, garnering a 0.5. The Good Place plucked a 0.7, good for a 17% uptick, and Will & Grace grew 20% to 0.6. Law & Order: SVU retained a 0.7.

CBS ran comedy reruns and an Evil repeat. Telemundo saw a 0.5/2 and Univision a 0.4/2. The CW scored a 0.2/1. Special The 13 Scariest Movies of All Time got a 0.2 and the Mysteries Decoded finale remained flat at 0.1.
