Juan González Returns To KTAZ Phoenix As Chief Meteorologist

Telemundo’s KTAZ Phoenix, Ariz., today named Juan González chief meteorologist for Noticiero Telemundo Arizona. The newscast airs Monday through Friday at 11 a.m., 4, 4:30, 5 and 10 p.m. and on weekends at 5 and 10 p.m. Noticiero Telemundo Arizona is simulcast on KHRR Tucson, Ariz. His on-air debut will be Monday, June 6.

González worked as meteorologist for KTAZ from 2016 to 2020. In 2020, he took the role of meteorologist and weather team leader for WTMO-CD Orlando, Fla. Prior to his experiences with those Telemundo stations, he was a weather anchor for TeleCubanacan in Cuba in 2015.

González  is the recipient of four Emmy awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Rocky Mountain Southwest chapter including best Weather Anchor in 2018. He obtained his degree in meteorology from Instituto Superior de Tecnologias y Ciencias Aplicadas (inSTEC) in his native Cuba.
