Three Sweden Chooses Net Insight For Synchronizing Its 5G network

Mobile operator Three Sweden has selected Net Insight for synchronizing its 5G network. The companies have worked in close cooperation and after extensive field evaluation of Net Insight’s 5G time sync solution, Three has placed an initial order for Nimbra Time Nodes.

Time synchronization is critical for Three’s 5G rollout and Three and Net Insight have the intention to enter into a frame agreement for a broader rollout in Three’s mobile network. The company says this is “further validation of the competitiveness of Net Insight’s 5G time synchronization technology to distribute time over existing networks, reducing costs and complexity in Three’s 5G rollout.”

“Net Insight’s solution offers unique advantages as an alternative to GPS synchronization thereby creating redundancy and securing the availability of our 5G network,” says Per Stigenberg, Three CTO. “We have worked closely with Net Insight to verify the solution across our existing network and consider it a solid fit for Three’s nationwide 5G synchronization.”

“Three is known for using new technology that improves efficiency and quality of services. We are proud that Three, with its extensive expertise and forward-looking approach to 5G and time synchronization, has selected us and we look forward to a continued close cooperation,” says Crister Fritzson, Net Insight CEO. “Our mission is to enable faster and more secure 5Grollouts for the world’s mobile networks and offer an GPS-independent solution. This deal confirms our deep knowledge in precision timing technology.”

The initial order value is approximately SEK 2 million Swedish Krona ($195,000) and delivery of the Nimbra Time Nodes will take place in the third quarter.
