WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Jeopardy’ Leads Strong Games Playbook

At a 5.9, it tops the category and all of syndication while Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud also scale the 5 household rating mark in the week ending Jan. 22.

Game shows gathered the most glory in the session ending Jan. 22, with the troika of Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud all breaching the lofty 5.0 ratings mark.

Jeopardy stayed at the top of the chart for the 16th week in a row, remaining steady with the previous scrimmage at a strong 5.9 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating.

Wheel rolled to a new season high 5.6 with a 4% increase, while Feud finished at its previous season high with a 2% pickup to a 5.1.

In daytime, the only talk show in the plus column was the popular Kelly Clarkson, which matched its season high with an 11% surge to a 1.0 and was the third most-watched strip in the category.

Also of note, Drew Barrymore had its best week ever in the advertiser-coveted women 25-54 demo.

Live with Kelly and Ryan remained the leader of the yak pack for a 35th straight week and the 100th time in the past 121 tries, hanging tough at a 1.7.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Dr. Phil snared second place with a steady 1.5.

In the ranks of the rookies, Nielsen made an important upward revision to Sherri’s rating for the previous week, restating it as a 33% increase to a new season high 0.8 for the frame ending Jan. 15. For the current week, ending Jan 22, Sherri slipped 13% to a still-potent 0.7.

Jennifier Hudson stayed close with a solid 0.6 despite getting crushed on the Martin Luther King holiday when it lost its primary run in the five largest markets.

Meanwhile, Karamo clocked its season high 0.4 for the fifth straight week.

In court, Hot Bench was the highest rated gaveler with a positive Nielsen closing argument, overruling all rivals in original production with an 8% gain to a 1.3.

The top talk shows for the week among women 25-54 were:

  • Live with Kelly and Ryan (0.6, unchanged from the week before)
  • Dr. Phil (0.5, unchanged)
  • Drew Barrymore (0.4, +33%)

In the household rating rankings that follow, % change is from the previous week; * indicates a new season-high rating; ** indicates a new season low; NC indicates no change from the previous week; NA means not applicable.

Yet ANOTHER week where you fail to mention Drew Barrymore Show is kind of cheating by having their ratings count TWICE since it was broken up into two 30 minute segments instead of one 1 hour segment. Such a scam.
