Little Movement Among Syndies

In the week ending March 12 the status quo ruled, with the majority of shows across genres either flat or down.

There was little change on the syndication leaderboard in the week ending March 12, 2023. Long-running game shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune continued to dominate with unchanged 5.5 and 5.1 Nielsen National Syndication Service ratings, respectively, while Family Feud remained in third place despite dipping a tenth of a point to 4.9.

Live with Kelly and Ryan continued to top the talkers with a 1.6 for the third week in a row, while second place Dr. Phil tumbled 14% to a 1.2. Third place Kelly Clarkson rounded out the top three with a 10% drop to a 0.9.

Popular newcomers to talk Jennifer Hudson was stable at 0.6, while and Sherri rose 14% to a 0.8.

Judge Judy presided over the court shows with 4.0, off 5% from the prior week. Hot Bench was second with an unchanged 1.2, while People’s Court took third with a steady 0.8.

Four of the six magazine shows were unchanged. Inside Edition continued to lead, although it gave back 4% to a 2.3. Entertainment Tonight was down 5% at 2.1, and Access Hollywood retreated 13% to 0.7.

There was some action among off-net sitcoms as leader Big Bang Theory relinquished 5% to 1.9 and Last Man Standing popped 37% to 1.1. Third-place Modern Family also moved up, gaining 14% to 0.8.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Dateline ruled the off-net weekly hours with an 8% dip to 3.3. Law & Order: SVU was second with 1.8 (off 5%), and Chicago P.D. was third, unchanged at 1.1.
