WFSB Promotes Reporter Eric Parker To Anchor

Meredith Corp.’s CBS affiliate WFSB Hartford, Conn. (DMA 30), announced that  reporter Eric Parker will join Irene O’Connor in anchoring Eyewitness News This Morning.

Parker has been named morning anchor, and in addition to anchoring, he will continue his work as chief investigative reporter.

WFSB VP-GM Klarn DePalma said: “Eric is an outstanding journalist. As an I-Team reporter he has uncovered government waste, exposed contractors ripping off homeowners and has broken major stories across Connecticut. Eric will make a perfect addition to our team in the morning.”

Parker, a Connecticut native, returned home to join the WFSB team as a reporter in April 2004. His news career began at NBC News in Washington, where he worked on the assignment desk and as a field producer on Capitol Hill and at the White House. His first on-air reporting job came at WBOC Salisbury, Md.

Parker graduated from the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism.  This year he graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law and will be admitted to practice law in Connecticut later this month.
