PPI’s ‘Electric Playground’ Clearances Hit 80%

PPI Releasing, worldwide distributor of the long-running series, The Electric Playground, announced that the quarterly Electric Playground Buying Guides have been cleared in over 80% of the U.S. for fall 2010, including stations in the following top 20 markets: WABC New York; KABC Los Angeles; WLS Chicago; WPVI Philadelphia; KGO San Francisco; WCVB Boston; WSB Atlanta; WXYZ Detroit; WTSP Tampa; KOMO Seattle; KSTP Minneapolis; WEWS Cleveland; KMGH Denver; and KXTV Sacramento, Calif.

Stations from the ABC, Scripps, Hearst, Belo, Gannett, Hubbard, Fisher, McGraw-Hill, Newport, Journal and Raycom groups, among others, have cleared the specials.

The Electric Playground Buying Guides will consist of four one-hour programs for airing in November and December, followed by three more seasonal specials in the first, second and third quarters of 2011. The Buying Guides are sold on a station-friendly barter syndication basis with six-week windows and no restrictions on runs or dayparts.

PPI Releasing will offer a weekend hour version of the Buying Guides in fall 2011, followed by a weekday strip in 2012.

On the air since 1997, The Electric Playground is a daily half-hour entertainment news series covering all things popular culture, including movies, TV, videogames, music, comics, collectibles, gadgets, mobile apps and devices. EP is produced by host Victor Lucas and Greedy Productions, program supplier to Discovery, G4, Disney, Citytv, Turner, Rogers and broadcasters around the world. Current hosts and correspondents include Briana McIvor, Jose Sanchez, Miri Jedeikin and Shaun Hatton contributing from studios in Vancouver and bureaus in Toronto, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
