TVNewsCheck To Honor Darcy Antonellis

The president of Warner Bros.' technical operations is to be the recipient of the first Women in Technology Leadership Award, honoring her professional achievements and raising funds to support the National Association of Broadcasters Educational Foundation’s Technology Apprenticeship Program.

TVNewsCheck, the leading business news source for the broadcast television industry, will present its first Women in Technology Leadership Award to Darcy Antonellis, president of technical operations at Warner Bros.

Antonellis, who directs technology strategy at Warner Bros., also has oversight of the company’s worldwide anti-piracy operations and works with Time Warner’s global public policy group on Washingtonon technology and intellectual property issues.

The presentation will be made at the NAB Show at a reception starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

An Emmy Award-winning veteran of CBS News and CBS Sports, Antonellis oversaw technical operations for three Olympics and managed CBS News’ operations in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait during the first Gulf War.

In addition to turning a spotlight on the accomplishments of women in media technology, the award raises funds for the National Association of Broadcasters Educational Foundation’s Technology Apprenticeship Program, which places young engineers who are women or people of color in broadcast industry internships.

“We could not be more thrilled to be presenting the first WIT Leadership Award to Darcy Antonellis,” said Kathy Haley, publisher of TVNewsCheck. “She is an inspiration to people in all walks of life, but in particular to women in technology.”
