KHBS-KHOG Ups Kelly Johnson To Morning Anchor

Hearst’s duopoly of KHBS (ABC)-KHOG (CW) in Fort Smith-Fayetteville, Ark. (DMA 100), has promoted Kelly Johnson from multimedia journalist to anchor/reporter.

Johnson will join the 40/29 News Sunrise anchor team alongside Derek Burleson and Meteorologist Matt Devitt beginning Sept. 12. 40/29 News Sunrise airs weekdays from 4:30 to 7 a.m. Johnson has been part of the Sunrise team since April, when the newscast was expanded to 4:30 a.m.

Johnson joined the stations in May 2010 as a multimedia journalist covering Fort Smith and the River Valley. Johnson is a graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

I wonder if any of the other ‘geezers’ who read and comment on this site know who the other Kelly Johnson was? Not a journalist, but the father of Lockheed’s famous ‘Skunk Works’, developer of lots of super-secret aircraft technologies from the U-2 to the SR-71 and much, more. All covered thoroughly in spot news reports and numerous documentaries by TV News, of course!
