WPVI Ups Tom Davis To News Director
Longtime Assistant News Director Tom Davis, has been named VP-news director of ABC O&O WPVI Philadelphia (DMA 4). Davis has been assistant news director at since March 2004.
Davis has more than 20-years of experience in TV news, working in several different television markets. Before coming to Philadelphia, he was the assistant news director at WJLA Washington. He spent five years in the nation’s capital, supervising the day-to-day operations at both the ABC affiliate and at its cable news channel NewsChannel 8. Prior to Philadelphia and Washington, Davis was an executive producer at TV stations in Cleveland and Youngstown, Ohio.
Davis succeeds Carla Carpenter, who was recently promoted to SVP of digital media for the owned television group.
Davis attended Youngstown State University.
