KOMO Adds Brad Goode As A.M. Anchor

Veteran Seattle broadcaster Brad Goode is joining the ABC affiliate KOMO Seattle’s morning news team on Monday, Jan. 2. Goode will co-anchor the morning newscast from 5 to 7 with Peggy Bunker. Bunker is currently anchoring the weekend morning shows on KOMO and reporting for the morning broadcast three days per week.

Goode anchored the morning news at KING Seattle for six years from 2005 until this past summer. He also anchored the morning news at KIRO from 1998 to 2001.  Goode left Seattle in 2001 to become a national anchor for CNBC’s morning program Wake Up Call, where he covered business news on the West Coast.

During his 26 years in broadcast, Goode has also worked as an anchor/reporter in Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Salt Lake City.

Like Goode, Bunker has spent several years working on a network level. Before joining KOMO, Bunker was an anchor for ABC World News Now, the network newscast leading into KOMO’s morning news.  Bunker has also worked as an anchor/correspondent for CBS Newspath in New York and Reuters TV. Additionally, Bunker has worked on local newscasts in New York and Denver. The Seattle native started her broadcast career more than a decade ago in KOMO’s operations department.

Longtime KOMO anchor Molly Shen will be promoted to the 5 p.m. newscast, also effective Jan. 2. Shen has been with KOMO for 15 years as a reporter and anchor on a variety of newscasts.

Shen will join Eric Johnson who has been anchoring the 5 p.m. news for the past two years. Johnson is also a veteran of KOMO 4 having worked for the station for more than 20 years.
