TVU Networks Teams Up With JVC, Sony

TVU Network and JVC are partnering to give broadcasters camcorders with integrated cellular ENG capability, the companies announced today.

The package combines the TVUPack Mini cellular ENG system with the JVC GY-HM700 shoulder-mount cameras.

TVUPack Mini weighs under two pounds and fits a wide variety of camera setups including direct camera mount and belt mount configurations.

“The combination of JVC cameras and TVUPack Mini gives our customers the ideal solution for video crews to capture and transmit professional video on the go,” said Lon Mass, VP sales and marketing, JVC Professional Video Products.

TVUPack is powered by TVU’s proprietary Inverse StatMux technology, which dynamically segments a live video signal and transmits the segments through multiple independent 3G, 4G, WiFi, WiMax, BGAN or microwave connections.

The TVUPack family of solutions is simple to use and provides broadcasters with a low-latency, HD-quality signal that enables them to broadcast live at any time and from any location, the company said.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

TVU Networks also announced an agreement with Sony, under which broadcasters can transmit live or transfer clips from Sony’s XDCAM family of cameras without disrupting the cameras’ XMPilot metadata.

The solution extends XDCAM production workflow to TVUPack’s ability to deliver live and store-and-forward video footage, while improving the speed and efficiency of live production, the company said.
