EVS Appoints Joop Janssen CEO-Managing Dir.

EVS Broadcast Equipment today named Joop Janssen managing director and CEO of the company.

The 52-year-old Janssen has more than 25 years of experience in the broadcast video, professional audio and telecommunications equipment industries. He recently was CEO of the Vitec Videocom division and was on the executive board of the Vitec Group Plc.

Prior to that he was VP and general manager of Phillips Broadcast (formerly BTS) North America where he was instrumental in the successful divestment to Thomson Multimedia and the subsequent acquisition of the Grass Valley Group.

He has held senior and executive management positions at Philips Electronics Digital Networks in France and Philips Business Electronics in the Netherlands.

Janssen holds a master’s in electronic engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology (NL).
