ABC Getting New Outlet In Columbus-Tupelo
ABC is switching affiliates in the Columbus-Tupelo-West Point, Miss., hopping from Southern Television Corp. WKDH to a digital subchannel on NBC affiliate WTVA.
The switch will take effect at midnight Friday (Aug.1).
The affiliation agreement calls on WTVA to provide local news on the subchannel, ABC said.
ABC could not be reached immediately to explain the switch.
WTVA Station Manager Phil Sullivan that he believes that WKDH is going dark.
WTVA, he said, is principally owned by Jane Spain.
