WFRV Hires ND, Expands News Programming

The Nexstar Green Bay CBS affil adds an hour-long newscast at 4 p.m. and extends its 6 p.m. broadcast to an hour following the appointment of Kent Harrell as news director.

Nexstar Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate WFRV Green Bay, Wis. (DMA 69), today expanded its local news programming with the recent launch of the station’s first full-hour 4 p.m. newscast and this week’s extension of its 6 p.m. newscast to a full hour.

The expanded news programming follows the appointment of local broadcast veteran Kent Harrell to news director of the station. Harrell previously was the news director of Nexstar’s WQRF Rockford, Ill.

The new 4 p.m. weekday broadcast is anchored by Kris Schuller. Schuller has been a broadcast journalist in Wisconsin and Michigan for more than two decades. After spending 18 years at WFRV, Schuller became the communications manager for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and served two terms as an elected supervisor on the Brown County Board before returning to WRFV in August.

Veteran news anchors Tom Zalaski and Erin Davisson continue to co-host the newly expanded full-hour 6 p.m. weekday newscast, beginning on Sept. 14.
