Belo Chooses Linda Danna To Lead WHAS

Belo Corp. on Tuesday named Linda Danna president and general manager of WHAS, Belo’s ABC affiliate in Louisville, Ky. (DMA 48). She will begin her new role on Oct. 15, 2012. 

She succeeds Mark Pimentel who left the station in June to become GM of Belo’s KMOV St. Louis.

Danna has been VP-GM of KGPE Fresno, Calif., since September 2008. Prior to that, she was a director of sales and interim GM at WOAI San Antonio, Texas, and SVP-GM WWJ-WKBD  Southfield, Mich.

She also served as SVP-GM of WUPA Atlanta and general sales manager of KTXH Houston, Texas. Danna started her career in sales, as general manager for Seltel Inc., a national TV representation firm, and as local sales manager at KTXA Arlington, Texas.

Early in her career, she was an account executive at KHOU Houston and at KFDM Beaumont, Texas.

Danna holds a Bachelor of Science with a major in radio television and film and minors in political science and Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin.
