WPXI Pittsburgh Adds Joe Arena To Morning News
Cox-owned NBC affiliate WPXI Pittsburgh (DMA 23) has hired Joe Arena as its new morning news co-anchor starting Monday, Oct. 22. Arena will be replacing Todd McDermott who is moving to WPBF West Palm Beach, Fla., so that he can be closer to his daughter.
Arena will be joining anchor Jennifer Abney, traffic reporter Trisha Pittman and meteorologist Kevin
Benson every weekday morning from 4:30 to 7:00. He will also co-anchor the Channel 11 News at Noon with veteran anchor Peggy Finnegan.
For the past five years, Arena has been a news anchor and reporter at WIVB Buffalo, N.Y. Prior to
that he worked in Shreveport, La.; Washington; and Bluefield, W.Va.
Arena is a 1998 graduate of Syracuse University.

The morning shift is the most grueling of all. You have to be asleep by about 8 PM and get up around 2 AM. Definitely NOT a good shift. if you value family time with your children, let alone your spouse! You have zero night life, or quality time together. But that’s the price you pay fr stardom, I guess. Too bad your family suffers.
