Sinclair Names Jim Lapiana WPGH-WPMY GM

Sinclair Broadcast Group today announced that Jim Lapiana has been named general manager of its duopoly of WPGH (Fox) and WPMY (MNT) in Pittsburgh (DMA 23) Lapiana succeeds Alan Frank, group manager, who is assuming additional regional television station oversight. The announcement was made by Steve Marks, COO of Sinclair’s television group.

Lapiana most recently and since 2001 has been director of sales for WPGH and WPMY. Prior to that and from 1998, he was the general manager of WPXT Portland, Maine.

From 1994 to 1998, Lapiana was the GM of Sinclair’s WRDC and WLFL in Raleigh-Durham, N.C. Prior to that, he served in various sales management roles at various stations, including director of sales, national sales manager, and account executive.

Lapiana attended Syracuse University.
