CW Renews ‘Bill Cunningham’ For 2013

Tribune Broadcasting’s daytime talker gets the green light for its third season.

The CW and Tribune Broadcasting today announced a renewal for The Bill Cunningham Show.  The CW will continue to air the talk show Monday through Friday, 3-4 p.m.

The 60-minute program, hosted by Bill Cunningham, an attorney and nationally syndicated talk radio host, launched on Tribune Broadcasting stations in 2011. Its second season airs nationally on CW. ITV Studios America will continue to produce Cunningham with a live studio audience at NEP Penn Studios in Manhattan.

The Bill Cunningham Show has been a great success for us and for our affiliates,” said John Maatta, CW’s executive vice president. “We’re excited to continue working with Tribune and with Bill, and look forward to the show’s continued growth.”

Nice to see broadcasters/networks sticking with shows rather than the immediate dismissal and cancellation.

It would be nicer to see them stick with shows that actually have some viewers.

Jerry, Maury, Steve, Bill…daytime “fill” shows (or “landfill” as I see it)…I guess they do well in some markets (enough of them to keep them going)…so what does that say of our viewing public…sad, indeed
