WTHR To Air Two Indianapolis Colts Games

Dispatch Broadcast Group-owned NBC affiliate WTHR Indianapolis (DMA 26) announced today that the station has secured local broadcast rights to air ESPN’s Monday Night Football contest between the Indianapolis Colts and the San Diego Chargers on Monday, Oct. 14, and the NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Colts and Tennessee Titans on Thursday, Nov. 14.

In making the announcement WTHR Director of Sales Tim Warner said: “We are thrilled to be the local home for these Colts telecasts, and to help make sure all Colts fans can enjoy the games. And now with all four prime time games on Channel 13 this truly makes us the primetime home of the Indianapolis Colts.”

In addition to the Oct. 14 and Nov. 14 matchups, WTHR is also home to NBC’s Sunday Night Football, which will feature the highly-anticipated clash between the Colts and the Denver Broncos on Oct. 20. The game marks the return of former Colt’s quarterback Peyton Manning as he leads the Broncos into Lucas Oil Stadium in a showdown with Andrew Luck and the Colts.

Another prime time showdown occurs on Nov. 3 when the Colts travel to Texas to take on the Houston Texans as part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football on WTHR.

WTHR also announced today that a primetime sports special on the 2013 Indianapolis Colts will air on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 8:30 p.m. Inside the Huddle will feature exclusive one-on-one interviews with Colts coach Chuck Pagano and quarterback Andrew Luck. The show will immediately follow the Operation Football special which begins at 8 p.m. Operation Football is a preview of the upcoming high school football season.
