Rosellini, Sumber Upped To VPs At Hearst Digital

Hearst Television’s digital unit has promoted Michael Rosellini to VP, digital operations, and Jonathan D. Sumber is now VP, digital sales.

Rosellini has been director of product development since 2008 and Sumber joined Hearst in April 2011 as director of digital sales. Both will continue to report to Roger Keating, SVP, digital, of Hearst Television Inc.

Rosellini joined Hearst Television as director of digital product development in 2008. In this role he has overseen digital product and technology operations for the Hearst stations. Previously, Rosellini managed projects for CBSNews.com during its early years of expansion, developing product and project management methodologies to bolster speed-to-market and quality for launches including two site redesigns, the debut of the Public Eye ombudsman blog, and the first live geo-fenced simulcast of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.

Rosellini graduated from the American University in Washington, DC. He started his career with the NBC stations group in Washington at WRC-TV, shortly thereafter moving to WNBC New York to edit WNBC.com.

Before joining Hearst, Sumber was manager of digital accounts & business development at Media Networks Inc. (MNI), a division of Time Inc., where he was responsible for sales training, sell-through, product/partnership development, and operational management of MNI’s Digital Media Group — a unit specializing in locally targeted media for national and regional brands.

Before MNI, he was digital product supervisor for the newspaper division of Gannett in White Plains, N.Y. While there, he was responsible for developing, selling and executing multifaceted digital media plans and worked closely with the company’s print sales and marketing teams as well as Gannett digital partners such as Cars.com to produce customized campaigns and reach targeted customers.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Sumber’s career in local media began in Albany, N.Y., where he sold TV advertising for WEWB (now WCWN).  He holds a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany.
