Paul Perozeni Tapped To Head WJW Cleveland

The Tribune Fox affil promotes its general sales manager to the top spot, succeeding Greg Easterly.

Tribune Broadcasting has named Paul Perozeni the VP-general manager of its Fox affiliate WJW Cleveland (DMA 19). He succeeds Greg Easterly who left the station in April to become president-GM of WGN Chicago.

Perozeni’s promotion is effective immediately and he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the station, including strategic planning and day-to-day operations. He will report to Lynda King, COO, Tribune Broadcasting.

Perozeni joined WJW in 1999 as the national sales manager and was quickly elevated to VP-general sales manager, a position he held for 13 years. During his tenure as VP-GSM, Perozeni was responsible for the sales management and revenue for the station and its digital properties.

Prior to joining WJW, Perozeni held sales executive positions at Petry Television, where he represented 120 television stations. Previously Perozeni was an account executive at WUAB Cleveland. He began his career in media as a newsbreak announcer and board engineer at WCLV-FM Cleveland.

Perozeni holds a masters in communications management from John Carroll University and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Akron, where he graduated with honors.  While an undergrad, Perozeni was selected for a national IRTS fellowship.

Perozeni currently serves as an adjunct professor at John Carroll University and Cuyahoga Community College where he teaches journalism and mass communications.
