Tribune Sets Programmatic, Data Revenue VP

William Ammerman will have responsibility for programmatic direct, private exchanges and yield optimization on the station group’s mobile, desktop and video platforms.

Tribune Broadcasting today named William Ammerman vice president of programmatic and data driven revenue.

In this newly created role, Ammerman will have responsibility for programmatic direct, private exchanges and yield optimization on mobile, desktop and video.

Ammerman joins Tribune Broadcasting on Nov.17, and will report to Devin Johnson, SVP-head of digital.

Ammerman was formerly the general sales manager for Capitol Broadcasting’s New Media Group, where he managed sales and marketing for digital properties, including WRAL.com, and established a digital sales strategy and programmatic ads across the company’s TV and radio properties.

Prior to his tenure at Capitol Broadcasting, Ammerman was the president of DVD Marketing, where he produced and distributed digital media products broadcast groups such as ABC Sports and ESPN.  He has also served as director of integrated marketing at Hearst-Argyle (now Hearst Television).  

Ammerman has won several awards, including an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2010 for his work with WRAL.com. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, he is currently finishing his master’s degree in technology and communications from UNC’s School of Journalism.
