Sinclair Names George Kayes WSET GM

Sinclair Broadcast Group today promoted George Kayes to general manager of its ABC affiliate WSET Roanoke-Lynchburg, Va. (DMA 67). He succeeds Randy Smith who left the earlier this month for an executive post at Liberty University.

Kayes most recently and since 2006 was the station’s general sales manager. From 2005 to 2006, he was the local sales manager at WHAS Louisville, Ky.

From 2002 to 2005 he was the national sales manager and then local sales manager at Sinclair’s WRLH  Richmond, Va.

Prior to that, he held account executive positions at WWBT Richmond, Va., and WSAZ Huntington, W.Va.

Kayes received a bachelor’s degree in business administration-management and finance from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va.
