KGTV San Diego To Launch 4 P.M. Local News

The Now San Diego debuts Sept. 14 and will feature anchors Ariel Wesler and Anne State, with meteorologist Angelica Campos.

Scripps-owned ABC affiliate KGTV San Diego (DMA 28) will launch a 4 p.m. local newscast on Monday, Sept. 14. The Now San Diego will be anchored by Ariel Wesler and Anne State, with meteorologist Angelica Campos providing area forecasts.

“From investigations you need to know about, to trending topics you want to know about, to San Diego’s most accurate forecast, it’ll all be on The Now San Diego at 4 p.m.,” said KGTV News Director Tiffani Lupenski.

Ariel Wesler most recently was a national correspondent for The List, a syndicated magazine program seen weeknights at 7:30 on KGTV. He has also served as a reporter and anchor in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Bend, Ore. Wesler is a Southern California native, and a graduate of the University of Southern Californiz.

Anne State is also a familiar face to San Diego news viewers, having worked at another area news station from 2002-2008.  Most recently State was a news anchor in Portland, Ore., and has also worked in Chicago and Milwaukee. State is a Southern California native, and a University of California San Diego grad. She holds a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
